Our little Ines fell in love with chess: what started as a game soon became, thanks to her teacher Marco, a true passion which brought the whole family this year to the Geovillage Hotel Olbia Resort , in Sardinia, for the 29th Italian Youth Chess Championship. Mornings spent on the beach, afternoons at the tournament.
During our stay, we explored the stretch of coast to the north of Olbia, as far as Porto Rotondo. Here is my small guide!
Pittulongo Beach
We went there three times, to three different beach clubs. On Saturday nights, the Mama Beach which is very popular in the area, becomes a disco club open till 5 a.m.. The restaurant is a must-try.
Cala Sassari Beach
Beach Club: Fatti di Mare Beach Bar, cute and small-sized, never overcrowded! We had a lovely time
Marinella Beach
Blu Beach, a super chic beach club with chill-out music, the go-to place at sunset when aperitivo time strikes. Nearby there is a catamaran-hire service which provides windsurfing lessons. Ines tried it out!
Golfo Aranci
Terza Spiaggia:when the tide is out, the sea looks like an island of sand surrounded by blue water. The restaurant, open at dinnertime too, offers creative dishes. A must-try? The savoury myrtle and caramel semifreddo
Porto Rotondo
T-beach or Tartarughino Beach. A very elegant and small, pebbled-sand beach.
